The Big Bag Tote sewing pattern

This Big Bag is designed to carry a lot of stuff, like stuff for sewing, school, travelling etc. This bag is both simple and functional and has added pockets on both sides of the inside of the bag to give it just enough storage for the smaller things, but not enough to interfere with the roominess that is the signature of the Big Bag.

Sometimes you just know that a designer has picked a perfect name for her bag and this is one of them. This designer has called her Tote Bag “The Big Bag”.

This Big Bag is designed to carry a lot of stuff. You can just imagine filling this bag with stuff for sewing, school, travelling etc. This bag is both simple and functional and when finished measures 15 1/2″ wide by 14″ tall by 6 1/2″ deep. If you need a bigger bag than this, then it will probably be too heavy to carry and you’ll need a suitcase!

We love the large grommets as a feature on this bag and the sturdy wide straps to make carrying easier and comfortable. The quilting is a great touch to add interest to the large panels as well as to sandwich the layers together and make the bag stronger. Do simple straight lines, a diagonal design or go to town with some fancy free-hand quilting if you like.
