Beachcomber Pouch sewing pattern

Here’s a handy zipper bag to sew, with a number of different options included in the same pattern. It’s great for cosmetics and storage, but also cute as a clutch bag.

The Beachcomber Pouch is another fantastic pattern in the Beachcomber Collection, which also features a clutch, coin purse, and tote bag. It’s super useful for storing craft supplies, pencils, cosmetics, electronic cords and is perfectly sized! As a fun bonus, this includes an Add-On option for omitting the gusset and using a boxed bottom if you prefer.

Sizing info:
When you have finished making your own Beachcomber Pouch it will measure approximately 7″ wide by 6½” high by 3½” deep for the original version with the gusset.

Skill level:
The designer, Needle & Anchor Supply Co, rate their pattern as suitable for advanced beginner sewers.

Fabrics needed:
They recommend using quilting cotton but if other materials are used such as cork or vinyl, they suggest not using woven interfacing on those pieces. Use your own experience to match your interfacing according to the fabrics used, if you use a heavier weight of fabric for this zipper pouch.

What you will need to make a Beachcomber Pouch:-

  • (measurements are approximate and don’t account for directional and/or fussy cutting)
  • 1/4 yard of Fabric 1,
  • 1/4 yard of Fabric 2,
  • 1/4 yard of Fabric 3,
  • 1-yard of woven interfacing (20” wide),
  • One 14” #5/#4.5 zipper or 14” #5/#4.5 continuous zipper tape and one zipper pull,
  • One ½” D-ring (optional for wristlet strap).
  • One ½” Swivel clip (optional for wristlet strap),
  • Basic sewing supplies,
  • A sewing machine.
