The Beachcomber Tote & Handbag are beautiful, classy and spacious bags! They feature two exterior slip pockets, an interior slip pocket and a large zipper pocket. And everything is secure with a recessed zipper panel. The designer shares her fabulous technique of creating the recessed zipper panels so they come out perfect every time!
Skill level:
This pattern is for the Intermediate Sewist. You'll need to know how to sew a gusset on a bag, determine interfacing requirements.
The pattern includes:

• a Cutting List (to use instead of the rectangular pattern pieces - to save the trees!)
• Labels for cut fabric
• colorful and clear diagrams for most steps

Recommended fabrics:
I strongly recommend quilt weight cotton for the exterior and lining. Oilcloth and vinyl fabrics may be used but I recommend sewing in quilting weight cotton the first time to get familiar with the pattern, specifically the gussets.
