Victory Purse wartime style retro handbag sewing patterns
With this sewing pattern, you actually get patterns for two similar but different bags.
This pair of stylish shoulder bags have a 1940s wartime influence. The Victory Bags are constructed with a set-in gusset base and are a sensible size for everyday use. Both styles include instructions for an internal zippered or patch pocket – you decide.
The bags measure approximately 14” wide by 11” high by 3” deep at the base, excluding the shoulder strap.
As you can see, there are two slightly different bag bodies, one with vertical pleats and one with horizontal pleats. You can also pick from two different closures. The blue one you see above has a flap and strap with faux buckle option. The green version has a simple wide strap closure with optional button embellishments. Mix and match the features on these two bags and have fun sewing!
