How to sew faux leather bag handles - FREE sewing tutorial

It’s great to sew your own faux leather bag handles and now we have a FREE tutorial where you can learn all about it.

Usually, you need a special foot to stitch faux leather but your walking foot can work fine. When topstitching, you have to help a little of the material to move under the needle. And it is best to stitch with longer stitches than usual. It’s a good idea to set your machine at 3. You may not get perfect stitches every time, but usually, they look good.

The straps in this tutorial have been made in two colors. The inside (the side that touches your shoulder) is a little wider than the outside.

I’m sure you are aware of the problem that faux leather can’t be creased with an iron, however, the tutorial shows you an easy way to stitch straps for your bags.
