This pattern uses little to no hardware to help a new bagmaker build their skills, without breaking the bank on supplies. If you can make a zipper pouch, you can make this bag.

Options, options, options! As with all this designer’s patterns, it includes lots of different options to build your bag, along with detailed instructions, photos and exclusive video clips to sew along with Michelle Graham from mgrahamsews’ YouTube channel. (Video tutorial link is in the pattern download.)

Measurements are included for three different size bags, with the Medium being the standard. You could make a dozen bags with different options in every one of them. This might be the most versatile pattern you buy this year.

Learn how to make:

  1. Rolled handles.
  2. Basic zipper pocket.
  3. Zipper pocket with overlay.
  4. Trolley/luggage sleeve.
  5. Slip pockets.
  6. Laptop sleeve.
  7. Zipper tabs.
  8. Keyminder clips.

Check out the introductory video below to see more info on the Big Mouth Bags range and options.

The pattern:
Your pattern pieces are all measurements for this one, so there is nothing you need to print out. You will just need your rulers and rotary cutter or scissors, so just download the pattern and you are ready to go! If you like making these, you could make templates from plastic cutting boards, found at your local dollar store, then you can easily sew them over and over.

You will need #5 zipper tape and pulls but all other hardware items are optional!
