When you have finished making your own Lou Lou Bag it will measure approximately 7.75″ (20 cm) tall by 6″ (15 cm) wide by 2″ (5 cm) deep.

Recommended fabrics:
The designer says that this pattern is suitable for lightweight fabrics such as quilting cotton or linen. It can be made with slightly heavier fabrics too, such as laminated cotton or canvas, but you may want to omit a layer of interfacing. Some of the interfacing pieces exclude the seam allowance to avoid bulky seams throughout, making this pattern domestic machine-friendly. If you’d prefer a more padded bag, consider using fusible fleece on the exterior pieces instead of interfacing. Please read through the entire pattern before starting!

What is needed to make a Lou Lou Bag:

  • 0.5 yard/meter of exterior fabric,
  • One-piece measuring 4.5″ (11 cm) wide by 5.5″ (14 cm) high of exterior contrast fabric,
  • 0.25 yard/meter (i.e., one fat quarter) of lining fabric,
  • 0.5 yard/meter of fusible woven cotton interfacing (medium weight),
  • One all-purpose 7″ (18 cm) nylon zipper or longer (either a size #3 or #5 zipper will work),
  • Two 0.5″ (12 mm) D-rings,
  • One 0.5″ (12 mm) slider buckle,
  • Rivets or Chicago screws to attach the strap (optional),
  • One metal zipper end (optional).

With this pattern, there are printable pattern pieces or you can simply measure and cut if you don’t have access to a printer.
