Here’s your chance to make yourself a great-looking Messenger Bag (from a free sewing pattern) that is inspired by the Pony Express delivery days of the early 1860s.

The name of the bag comes from the Pony Express which was a mail service delivering messages, newspapers, and mail using relays of horse-mounted riders between Missouri and California.

And as a great bonus, the designer has made the tutorial and pattern free.

A finished Pony Express Messenger Bag will measure 3 ½” wide by 12” long by 8” high.
