Junior Classic Messenger Bag sewing pattern
|
This designer continues to receive excellent feedback for the lovely patterns that she creates. This is the sewing pattern for the Junior Classic Messenger Bag, a compact boxy messenger bag that works for men and women.
The Junior Classic Bag is a little messenger-style bag that can be worn as a shoulder bag or a crossbody bag, using the adjustable strap. It has lots of pockets both inside and out, and the outside front slip pocket is especially perfect for an iPad, tablet, or other tech toys.
The addition of the featured flap closure and large fancy button gives you a chance to splash out with something eyecatching or keep it plain if you prefer. We like how the plain and simple styling and shape of this messenger bag makes it ideal to sew for a man who doesn’t want anything too fancy. (My husband carries a bag just like it.)
How big is the messenger bag?
When you have finished making the Junior Classic Messenger Bag sewing pattern it will measure approximately 11″ tall by 11″ wide by 4″ deep.

What you will need to make the Junior Classic Bag
- 1 yard of the main fabric
- ¾ yard of contrasting fabric (can be the same as the main fabric)
- 1 yard of lining fabric
- 1½ yards of fusible fleece
- ½ yard of fusible interfacing such as Pellon Shape Flex S101
- Two 1″ D rings
- Two swivel hooks
- One handle slide
- One 14″ zipper
