Mini Backpack sewing pattern with video
|This is the Mini Backpack pdf sewing pattern from the designer Emels Handicraft.
This cute bag has one very roomy zippered pocket on the front outside and one phone pocket inside. You can of course add extra pockets of your own design to suit what you need to carry.
If you like you can change the configuration of the straps and you can use this bag as a shoulder bag as well. The instructions show you the perfect strap hardware to use that allows the back to be convertible and so versatile.
Sizing info:
When you have finished making your very own Mini Backpack it will measure 10.2″ (26 cm) by 8.6″ (22 cm) by 4″ (10 cm).
Video tutorial available, how to sew a mini backpack:
The designer has produced a YouTube video tutorial showing you how to make her lovely Mini Backpack, which you can watch below.
What’s needed to make a Mini Backpack:
- Half a yard of canvas or cotton fabric,
- Half a yard of lining and interface,
- One zipper 10.6″ (27 cm),
- One zipper 15.7″ (40 cm),
- Six strap rings,
- Three-strap adjustments,
- Two strap locks,
- Basic sewing supplies,
- A sewing machine.
Note – if you are using a thin cotton fabric then you must use a heavy interfacing if you prefer to have the bag keep a firm shape. However, if you are using canvas or a heavier weight home-decor fabric then a medium interfacing is sufficient.
The pattern comes with one pdf pattern and one pdf with step-by-step written instructions. And don’t forget the designer’s video tutorial if that’s the way you like to sew.
