Mesh Beach Tote Bag FREE sewing pattern & tutorial
|This Mesh Beach Tote Bag is such a simple and practical idea and as a bonus the pattern and tutorial are FREE.
This cool mesh material of soft plastic comes in a variety of bright colors. It’s often sold as ‘pet screen’ but works great for sewing these sort of bags. It’s light and airy but is really strong. It works well for bags for the beach or pool because sand can simply fall out through the mesh. The mesh also allows the air to circulate so your bag won’t be all damp and moldy if you roll up your wet towels or swimsuits in there.
If you don’t want to use mesh, then this bag would look equally cute substituting a canvas material.
You can get the plastic mesh in black, charcoal, grey, and darker colors on Amazon here – Pet Screen plastic mesh. Or they often have some brighter colors on this link – Vinyl Coated Mesh Fabric
Or if you want a nice selection of bright and beachy colors, try out Online Fabric Store here – search for Vinyl Coated Mesh.
