Here’s a great FREE tutorial on how to make a detachable and adjustable bag strap. The tutorial includes three pages of full-colour tutorial style instructions with detailed photos. It will take you no time at all to read through the tutorial and make a professional-looking bag strap that will have approximate finished dimensions of 47″ by 0.75″.
What you will need to make a detachable and adjustable bag strap:-
- 50″ by 3″ of quilt weight fabric,
- 50″ by 3″ of medium fusible interlining – I use Vilene F220,
- One ¾” adjuster buckle,
- Two ¾” lobster clasps for attaching the strap to the bag,
- All-Purpose thread to match,
- Basic sewing supplies,
- Sewing machine.
