The King Size Selvages Handbag can also be used as a beach bag, travel bag, retreat bag, project bag, etc. It’s very spacious with five pockets inside and a zipper on the top with two pullers, making it easy to open from the center or from any side.

On the inside of the bag, there are two mesh pockets which are great for an extra bottle of water each. The zippered pocket is large enough for a wallet, phone, cash, and other valuables. It has three pleats for more volume. The two simple divided pockets on the other side are also a great size for any other items, i.e. sunglasses, wet wipes, sanitizer, snacks, etc.

In this tutorial, the designer will show you how she used her stash of selvages to create this 17” wide bag. She will explain how to use selvages (woven edge from the fabric) to create this decent size handbag. She will also teach you how to work with selvages, how to sort them out, how to keep in your stash only those, which can be properly used.

And she will show you how to make different types of pockets in this bag: mesh pockets, zippered pleated pockets, and simple wide divided pockets. You will learn how to make mitered corners and how to attach the binding to this bag.
