How to make your own laminated fabric – sewing tutorial
|Have you ever sewn a cosmetics bag, or a diaper bag or something that would really benefit from being made with a wipe clean surface? You can buy laminated fabrics, but they can be rather expensive, might not necessarily be available in the prints that you are looking for, or some of them can be really thick and difficult to work with.
Fear not! You can make your own laminated fabrics in any print of your choosing. It’s easy! We’ve all done it here at Sew Modern Bags and love the results and the huge possibilities it opens up for us.
You will need the following:-
- Regular quilting cotton of your choice – we love the huge choice here
- Fusible vinyl such as Pellon Vinyl Fuse or Heat N Bond Iron on Vinyl
- (available in a gloss or a matte finish)
Check out the tutorial over at See Kate Sew for more details. You’ll soon be hooked!
