Handy Make Up Bag FREE sewing video
In just half an hour you can watch this FREE video on how to create your very own makeup bag with a zipper and side ties. You can use the bag for makeup or for anything else you like.
The bag features an extended zipper so that you can open up the top of the bag very wide. There is also a pretty shaped flap that secures with magnetic snaps (or velcro etc, your choice). The bag has ties on the side and that’s a great part of the design. With a large flat base and that extended zipper, you can open the bag up into a complete box shape to make it easy to find what you have inside, and then when finished, zip it up, tie the sides fold over the flap and make it all neat and secure and pull that top of the bag in, so the shape is more triangular. Genius!
No pattern is needed, simply cut your fabric according to the directions in the video. A non-directional fabric or small print works best for the body of the bag because its cut in a single piece and there is no seam across the bottom – easy and a time saver. The main body of the bag is cut from a fat quarter, the same for the lining. I know you have one or two of those in your fabric stash! And if you didn’t check out the gorgeous fat quarters here.
