H2O 2GO Sling Waterbottle Holder sewing pattern with video
This is the H2O 2GO Sling Waterbottle Holder sewing pattern, a super practical bag to make and own. It’s been insanely popular in the sewing groups so if this is new to you, take a look and think about sewing one for summer. It’s the sort of bag every family member can use.
The designer has left the interior compartment wide open so it fits all different-sized water bottles. Even a 32oz Yeti can fit inside. It’s also great to carry your morning coffee on the way to work and allow you to be handsfree. That large compartment is handy for all sorts of things – it doesn’t need to be a drink!
The front pocket is 8″ tall and has two inner slip pockets which are both large enough to fit an iPhone, cash, passport, or a face mask. There are also four card slots that can easily be doubled up for more storage.
And as a bonus option, the designer has even included in the pattern instructions on how to make it without the card slots if you have no need for those, substituting a slip pocket and pen pocket instead. And another option with instructions is eliminating that front pocket entirely if sewing for a child, for example.

The designer Linds Handmade has rated her project as suitable for intermediate sewers. It uses advanced bag-making techniques that require you to have a general familiarity with bag-making. It also requires accurate cutting/sewing and installing a curved zipper which can obviously be challenging for new sewers. Check out the video and see if this project is right for you.

When you have finished making one of these H2O 2GO Sling Waterbottle Holders it will measure approximately 11″ tall at its tallest (along the sides) with an oval base that is 6″ wide by 4 inches deep.

- ⅓ yard of waterproof canvas (WPC),
- ¼ yard accent fabric,
- ¼ yard of 17” decovil light or Peltex F71,
- ½ yard of 45” woven interfacing (*fabric dependent),
- 16” or longer #5 zipper (for zipper by the yard, cut it exactly 14”),
- Two 1” D rings, O rings, or triangle rings (or smaller),
- Two 1½” swivel clasps,
- One 1½” strap adjuster,
- 57” of 1½” webbing for the strap,
- A rotary cutter,
- A quilting ruler,
- Wonder clips,
- Six small rivets (*optional),
- Pinking shears (*optional),
- ¼” double-sided tape (*optional),
- Basic sewing supplies,
- A sewing machine.
