This is a super pretty purse and the designer has been very generous in giving us all the pattern and tutorial free of charge. The Dresden Petal Handbag gets its name from the only pattern piece that this project has - a modified Dresden petal.

The Dresden Petal Handbag gets its name from the only pattern piece that this project has – a modified Dresden petal. You can click on the link below where you’ll find a full-size template for the pattern piece along with the detailed tutorial with plenty of color photos to help you complete the beautiful project. You can resize the pattern piece as you like, to make the bag in any size.

In the example Dresden Petal Handbag that the designer made she used seven different fat quarter scraps, (cut 2 of each) but you could certainly use fewer. If you make one of these lovely bags you will be able to add your own individuality by choosing some fabulous colored fabrics. You’ll sew together seven for the front and seven for the back.

Pair it with some ready-made handles for a very quick and easy sew. Add some simple quilting to give the bag somebody and make it look even more lovely. If you aren’t a quilter, then all you have to do is sew some straight lines to make this look good!
