The Aurora Essentials Pouch is a very versatile pattern that can be made using different types of fabrics (quilting weight cotton/vinyl/cork/leather or a combination of these) and in many styles.

The Aurora Multipurpose Pouch has a sizeable interior perfect for storing everyday essentials, for example, cosmetics, jewelry, toiletries, medicines, essential oils, stationery items, etc. The bottom of the Aurora Essentials Pouch is about 2″ wide and is constructed by boxing the corners.

Sizing info:
When you have finished making yourself an Aurora Essentials Pouch it will measure approximately 9″ wide by 6″ high by 2″ deep.

Skill level:
This is a great project for a confident beginner sewer. You’ll need to have basic sewing skills, be familiar with sewing patterns, and be able to install a zipper and sew a curved seam.

Materials Required (depending on style sewn):

Accent Style: (With a front curvy accent and a back zippered pocket):
– ¼ yard/meter of exterior fabric,
– ½ yard/meter of lining fabric,
– ¼ yard/meter of contrast fabric,
– 1 yard/meter of woven interfacing,
– Two 8” (20.32 cm) long #5 zippers.

Basic Style: (Simple pouch with a top zipper, no front accent, and no back zippered pocket):
– ½ yard/meter of exterior/contrast fabric,
– ½ yard/meter of lining fabric,
– 1 yard of woven interfacing (optional),
– One 8” long #5 zipper.

Color-Blocked Style: (This style has a cool two-tone color-blocked front. The back can be a simple plain back or can be constructed with a back zippered pocket):
– ½ yard/meter of exterior/contrast fabric 1,
– ⅛ yard/meter of exterior/contrast fabric 2,
– ½ yard/meter of lining fabric,
– 1 yard/meter of woven interfacing (optional),
– Two 8” (20.32 cm) long #5 zippers.

Fringe Style: (Bohemian pouch with a fringed front accent with/without a back zippered pocket):
– 10” (25.4 cm) wide by 7” high (17.8 cm) piece of contrast fabric,
– ½ yard/meter of exterior/contrast fabric,
– ½ yard/meter of lining fabric,
– 1 yard/meter of woven interfacing (optional),
– One/Two 8” (20.32 cm) long #5 zippers.

The pattern includes thirty pages of step-by-step instructions with color photographs. The pattern also comprises printable pattern pieces including rectangular pattern pieces. All pattern pieces include a seam allowance.

Measurements are approximate and don’t account for directional or fussy cutting.
