Amelia Handbag pattern

Amelia is a sassy handbag with contrast overlays on the front main panel for a very stylish look. It has a zipper pocket on the outer back. It has a spacious inside body with a zipper pocket, a slip pocket and a very handy key fob strap.

The stylish overlays on the outside of this purse (optional of course) are perfect for adding your own spin to the design. Sew the purse in any fabrics and use cork or vinyl (or other no-fraying fabric) for the optional overlays.

You can wear Amelia as a crossbody bag if you like as the designer has added an adjustable strap to this smart purse design, which can be removable.

We especially LOVE this example below in the hot pink and faux animal print vinyl. What a show stopper. You can make your own design as bold and flashy as you like, or as understated as you need, depending on the occasion. Use high quality hardware, add fancy zipper pulls and tassels, and you have a bag that will be envy of your friends.

It comes together very quickly.

The designer recommends using no-fray materials for the overlays and side connectors, such as vinyl. The rest of the bag can be sewn with regular fabrics such as cottons and canvas etc. There is minimum hardware needed, but feel free to add bling if you like that look.

Sizing info:
The Amelia Handbag comes together very quickly, and when finished measures approximately 9″ tall by 12″ wide by 4″ deep.

The designer has produced a very detailed written tutorial for her Amelia Handbag which is full of pictures showing almost every single step. You can get a copy of the pattern by clicking on the button below.
