Just in time for Easter here is a FREE sewing pattern for a Woven Easter Basket. This would look great on your Spring table or mantel display filled with eggs, or even flowers. The kids would love these too, for hanging over their arms for the Easter Egg hunt. Or use it as a cute gift basket to deliver a seasonal gift idea.

This Woven Easter Basket is perfect for using scraps or 2 1⁄2″ (6.35 cm) pre-cut strips. This basket can be made in pastels for Easter, or in another color scheme to hold jewelry, guest towels, or other small items

Skill level:
The designer rates her project as suitable for an intermediate sewer.

Sizing info:
When you have finished making one of these Woven Easter Baskets it will measure approximately 7″ (17.78 cm) square and 4 1⁄2″ (11.43 cm) tall, excluding the handle.

What you will need to make a Woven Easter Basket:-

  • Twelve assorted cotton print strips, 2 1⁄2″ (6.35 cm) by 20″ (50.80 cm),
  • Four assorted cotton print strips, 2 1⁄2″ (6.35 cm) by 30″ (76.20 cm),
  • One cotton print strip, 4 1⁄4″ (10.80 cm) by 19 1⁄2″ (49.53 cm),
  • 5⁄8 of a yard (57.15 cm) of double-sided fusible craft interfacing, such as Fast2Fuse,
  • Basic sewing supplies,
  • A sewing machine.
