(2) The Restoration Mini Crossbody Bag sewing pattern (+ video)
If you loved the Restoration Handbag but don’t need to carry as much stuff, this is a smaller version with some new features. You have the familiar classic style, but it includes a zipper top closure for more security, and another optional handle construction method for you. This is a great style for any type of fabric you want to try!
The designer made them from waxed canvas, vinyl, faux leather, cotton and some gorgeous frosted TPU vinyl. Interfacing will depend on the fabrics you choose. This is intended to be a structured exterior but some fabrics will not need additional interfacing for structure. The frosted TPU paired with water resistant canvas used in the example above required no additional stabilizers.
Skill level:
This pattern is written for intermediate bag makers, but even the designer’s beginner skill level testers were able to follow along and make this, without the aid of a video. You can do it and the designer is here to help!
Sizing info:
Finished dimensions of the Restoration Handbag are 7½” high by 10″ wide by 4″ deep.
