The Marsha Bag is an awesome shoulder bag/purse, designed by a fantastic designer and available here for a confident beginner to tackle.
The Marsha Bag has a unique dart on the bottom giving it the much needed extra space we all need. When you make this bag you do have a choice to make, whether to add interfacing or not. Without it, the bag will have a more natural shape than with it, but if you decide to use interfacing then the bag will keep its shape no matter what.
Adding D or O rings to the bag will give it a little glamour, while the finished bag will measure approximately 22 ½” wide by 17″ high.
What you will need to make the Marsha Bag
- 44″ wide heavyweight home decorator fabric or quilting weight cotton – one yard for the exterior fabric and one yard for the lining
- Two yards of 22″ wide medium weight fusible interfacing
- One 18mm Magnetic Snap
- One spool of coordinating thread
- Two 1 ¼” D-Ring or O-Ring
- Basic sewing supplies
- Sewing machine.
