This sewing pattern is designed for a non-fraying fabric with a good body. For that extra touch of self-made luxurious life long feel the designer recommends the Lady ‘A’ is made from 3mm – 4mm 100% felted wool. Although a good quality non-fraying coat weight fabric will also be wonderful.
In order to be able to tackle this project, the designer mentions that you must be able to read pattern instructions, cut out from a template and sew competently. As a beginner to intermediate sewist, you should find the Lady ‘A’ handbag a straightforward and simple to sew experience.
When you have finished making the Lady Anderson Purse it will measure approximately 12″ (30cm) wide by 5.5″ (13.5cm) deep by 12.5″ (32cm) high (including handles) or 8.25″ (21cm) high (excluding handles).

- Fabric 24″ (60cm) wide by 28″ (70cm) long
- Rigilene (plastic boning) 30″ (75cm) by 0.2″ (0.5cm)
- Self-coloured or invisible thread
- Contrasting thread (optional)
- Rotary cutter and cutting mat
- Basic sewing supplies
- A sewing machine.
