This is a totally adorable sewing pattern for the Small World Suitcase that is going to melt your heart. It’s the cutest little fabric suitcase to sew that everyone will love.

This fully lined fabric suitcase is absolutely perfect for an overnight trip, toy storage, or pretend-play. Children love this sturdy little case and it will provide hours of imaginative play as they pack and unpack their goodies.

The designer, Ric raC Sews, says that their sewing pattern is best suited to an advanced beginner or intermediate sewer. The pattern contains detailed diagrams and step-by-step explanations, and please don’t be put off by that zipper. The zipper is sewn in flat, not in the round.

Sizing info:
Once sewn, the suitcase is approx ten inches high, fourteen inches wide, and five inches deep.

What you will need to make a Small World Suitcase:-

  • A piece of fabric for the exterior measuring 20″ (51 cm) by 44″ (112 cm),
  • A piece of fabric for the lining measuring 20″ (51 cm) by 44″ (112 cm),
  • A piece of fusible fleece measuring 20″ (51 cm) by 44″ (112 cm),
  • A piece of medium weight fusible interfacing measuring 80″ (2 meters) by 44″ (112 cm),
  • One zip at least 40″ long,
  • Basic sewing supplies,
  • A sewing machine.
