One Hour Bow Tote Bag FREE sewing pattern
|[SADLY THIS PATTERN IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. THE WHOLE SITE HAS DISAPPEARED. ITS DISAPPOINTING WHEN THIS HAPPENS BUT IS OUTSIDE OF OUR CONTROL. BUT WE HAVE LOTS AND LOTS MORE TOTE BAG PATTERNS FOR YOU SO PLEASE CHECK THEM OUT HERE]
The One Hour Bow Tote Bag is a very simple project that has been designed for the beginner sewer or someone who wants results in a short period of time.
This FREE pattern makes a cute tote bag with the bow being the main feature of the bag. This pretty tote bag is not lined, but because duck cloth (a type of canvas) is used and the inside seams are all neatly finished, you end up with a casual but sturdy, simple but elegant tote bag.
This pattern besides being FREE also comes in two sizes:
- Small Tote – 12″ by 10″ without the handles
- Large Tote – 14″ by 13″ without the handles
Also, you’ll need to make sure your machine can handle duck cloth. More heavy duty machines will have no trouble with it, while cheaper machines may not be able to handle it if there are a lot of layers. If you’re worried about your machine, try using sewing needles made for denim or try out a lighter fabric before attempting the duck cloth. Other good options would be linen, a linen-cotton blend, or a lighter home decor weight fabric.
What you will need to make the One Hour Bow Tote Bag:-
- 3/4 of a yard of duck cloth canvas,
- 1/2 a yard of fabric for the bow,
- Coordinating thread,
- Basic sewing supplies,
- A good sewing machine.
