INTERMEDIATE: ideally you’ll have made some bags and have experience sewing curves, working with zippers, and stitching multiple layers of fabric. RECOMMENDED FABRICS
Exterior: medium-weight woven fabric (8-10oz). Soft vinyl, waxed canvas, cork, and waterproof canvas can
also be used without interfacing. Avoid stiff or heavyweight fabrics. Lighter-weight designer canvas, midweight cotton/linen, or cotton twill can also be used but apply a double layer of interfacing specified below. All exterior pieces have a double layer of interfacing.
Lining: – any light to medium-weight woven fabric. Quilting cotton or cotton poplin is ideal.
Interfacing: medium-weight fusible woven interfacing for all pieces – Pellon SF101 or Vilene G700 are both good choices.
Zipper tape by the yard #5 (1¼”wide) ½ yd (2 x 9” pieces)
1” webbing tape* (max 2mm thickness) 1 ½ yds
HARDWARE:– 2 x ¾” D Rings, 1 x 1” swivel clip, 1 x 1” strap slider
1 x ½” press fastener and correct setting tools
1 x 7 or 8mm rivet and matching setting tools (optional)
OPTIONAL:– 1 x 3” piece of ¾” leather strap for slip pocket (instructions for making a fabric tab included)
1 x 6” piece of 2 or 3mm leather lace (or cord) for front zipper pocket pull
