This PDF tutorial is for two grocery bags and a carrying case that cinches closed. If using Ripstop nylon 4-5 bags can fit inside the carrying case easily. This hardwearing, strong, and wipe-clean fabric is ideal for grocery bags.
One yard of 45″ wide fabric will make two bags plus the carrying case.
The designer has been meaning to design a eco-friendly reusable shopping bag for some time time now. She wanted a lightweight convenient design that she could carry many bags inside a small lightweight carrying case and pull out as many as she needed.
Eliminating bulky lining was the first step without compromising the strength of the bag. French seams was one of the aspects to make this happen. French seams are super easy to do and really give a bag extra strength with no exposed seams. The set is all machine washable which is super important due to carrying foods that can spill or leak.
