Dual Duty Weekend Bag FREE sewing pattern
If want to make yourself a bag that the designer made for a weekend get-away then this is the Dual Duty Weekend Bag.
This lovely shaped soft-sided bag is just perfect for holding just what you need for that lovely weekend, away from it all.
You have a handy zippered pocket on the outside, with two zippers, which is a safe place to stow airline tickets, passports, and some snacks to make your trip go easier. Inside the bag, the designer has also added pockets so that you can organize other things.
When you have finished making yourself a lovely Dual Duty Weekend Bag it will measure approximately 16” (40.64cm) tall, excluding the handles, by 17 1/2” (44.45cm) wide at the bottom by 8” (20.32cm) deep at the base.
The designer says her project is aimed at an intermediate sewer.
What you will need to make the Dual Duty Weekend Bag:-
- 1 1/2 yds (1.37m) of home décor fabric, 45” wide
- 1 1/2 yds(1.37m) of cotton fabric for lining
- 1/4 yd (22.86cm) of contrast home décor fabric, for the pocket
- 1 1/2 yds (1.37m) of fusible fleece
- 3 yards (2.74m) of webbing, 1” (2.54cm) wide
- 7 1/2” by 17 1/4” (19.05cm by 43.82cm) of stiff plastic canvas
- Two 12″ zippers and two 14″ zippers
- Two 1” (2.54cm) metal rectangular rings
- Two 1¾” (4.45cm) metal swivel hooks
- A zipper foot
- Matching thread
- Basic sewing supplies
- A sewing machine.
