DIY Zip Up Makeup Pouch FREE sewing pattern
It’s another wonderful day and we’ve found you another free pattern with step by step photo tutorial. This is a cute little DIY Zip Up Makeup pouch so that you can keep all of your longer cosmetics and brushes in one place.
The designer describes her on-the-go case as a lifesaver.
“It holds all my brushes and larger items, which would otherwise be impossible to find at the bottom of my purse.”
Better yet, this sectioned zipper case could just as easily be used as a small on-the-go sewing kit or knitting pouch. You decide what it needs to hold and set up the elastic section according to your needs. Maybe even include a small mesh pocket too.
The designer sized this pattern to fit her tools. If you have different sized tools then you can scale the pattern up or down to accommodate your essentials.
Please be aware that pins can leave permanent holes in faux leather if you decide to use that kind of fabric – optional of course. Therefore, you must be sure to place pins within the seam allowances or use small binder clips or wonder clips to hold the fabric layers together. In addition, all seams should be sewn using a 1/4-inch-wide seam allowance, unless otherwise indicated.
What you will need to make the DIY Zip Up Makeup pouch:-
- 1/8 of a yard of faux leather,
- 1/8 of a yard of fusible fleece,
- 1/8 of a yard of cotton lining,
- 4 1/2 inches of 1-inch-wide elastic,
- One 18-inch zipper,
- Basic sewing supplies,
- A sewing machine.
