This Purse Bag can be used as a cosmetic bag or if you add a strap then it can be used as a handbag. It’s a really versatile sewing pattern and we think you can use this bag in a number of ways.
It has plenty of space inside for storage, so it makes a good zipper bag to keep on your vanity with cosmetics or other small items. It’s also the ideal size to carry around in your hand so if you like a clutch bag that has a little more space inside rather than just being flat, pick the right fabrics and this little bag makes a great clutch bag or wristlet bag too.
I like to carry a small purse sometimes, when all I need is a small wallet, my keys and phone, and a pen and small notepad. This smaller neat purse would be ideal for that too. Carry it by hand or slip your arm through the small strap and carry it up on your shoulder with the purse tucked neatly under your arm.
This Purse Bag really does look cute and after following along with the designer’s tutorials you’ll end up with an adorable purse you can use every day.
There is a handy zipper pocket on the outside back of the bag for those things you might need to keep easily on hand.

When you have finished making your very own DIY Cute Purse Bag it will measure approximately 8¾″ (22 cm) wide by 4¾″ (12 cm) high by 2″ (5 cm) deep.

What’s needed to make a DIY Cute Purse Bag:
- Outer layer fabric (quilting cotton),
- Lining fabric (quilting cotton),
- One 6″ (15 cm) zipper,
- One 10″ (25 cm) zipper,
- Interfacing (Fusible Fleece – 987F Fusible Fleece or Vilene H630),
- Two 5/8″ (1.5 cm) wide D Rings,
- Two 5/8″ (1.5 cm) wide swivel snap hooks,
- 1½″ (4 cm) wide Bias tapes – 55½″ (140 cm).
Please note there is no pattern to download for this bag. The dimensions for how to cut the fabric are given in the video tutorial so just follow along and cut yours the same. If you prefer a written tutorial with photos, you can follow that too.
