Dallas Vintage Duffel Bag sewing pattern (3 sizes with video)
|This is the Dallas Vintage Duffel Bag pdf sewing pattern from the designer SWOON.
The Dallas Vintage Duffel BagMake is as its name suggests a vintage inspired duffel bag. I think this would be Duffle Bag if you are in the UK. I used to have one of these to carry to school and its the ideal shape and size for when you have a lot of carry – the shape just somehow makes it easy to find everything.
It’s a classic gym bag or one of those bags that is made especially for your favorite sport or even a weekend get away bag!
With three sizes included in the pattern you can make the Dallas as small or large as you like.
This vintage looking bag includes carry handles as well as a clip-on/off adjustable crossbody strap and with a little piping on each end of the bag you get that classic look. The piping looks cool and helps define the shape of the bag. Great for strength too.
For the straps, you can make them in a matching or contasting fabric (instructions included), or use webbing for nice strong and ready to use straps. I buy some great webbing from various stores on Etsy or from Strapworks.
The bag is finished off with two zippered pockets to keep all of your small items organized.
