Clear View ID Key Chain Wallet sewing pattern
This little wallet can be joined to your key chain for the ultimate in convenience.
The wallet has a clear window that allows a card or ID to be seen easily, but unlike most little coin purses or wallets of this type, the ID card is contained within the zippered wallet so you never have to worry about it slipping out and away from you.
Inside you have an additional pocket to keep more cards or paper bills tucked in, and a large center section to hold lipstick, coins, medication, and any small items you would like to have with you when you head out the door. Everything is protected from loss as the top zips closed. Slip it in your pocket easily! It is even large enough for a small flip phone to fit inside. This all makes it the perfect “essentials” wallet.
Allow a couple of hours time for your first wallet, then about an hour for the following ones.
Sizing info:
The wallet measures 3 ½” high by 4 ¾” wide.
Skill level:
Sewing ability: be able to sew straight lines with your machine and have a general understanding of sewing patterns.
Materials needed:
- One fat eighth (11″ by 18″ piece): Fashion Fabric, and Contrasting Fabric,
- 1/4 yard of Shape Flex Fusible Interfacing,
- A remnant of clear vinyl usually found in home decorator fabric departments,
- Grosgrain ribbon, 3/4″ wide and 1/4″ wide,
- Split Key Ring, available at Walmart,
- One 6-7″ zipper or you can trim it if it is longer,
- Water-soluble marker,
- A ruler,
- Scissors,
- A printer,
- Straight pins,
- Thread,
- A hand sewing needle.
