This is the Casey Pouchette Bag pdf sewing pattern from the designer Maggy55 Patterns. Casey is the perfect small crossbody bag with a front pocket.
This little Casey Pouchette will be your go-to bag for those trips to the mall, and just traveling in general. There is a full-size zippered front pocket that is perfect for your keys or passport! The top of this bag has a zipper closure which will keep your items secure but still accessible. The interior features a zippered pocket that is perfect for those smaller items like lipstick, gum, or chapstick.
The crossbody strap has a 24” drop which is connected to the D-rings at the side of the bag. This is just the right size for those daytime or evening outings.

When you have finished making your own Casey Pouchette Bag it will measure 11” wide by 8” high by ½” deep.
Recommended fabrics:
The instructions in this pattern are written for regular fabric, leather, vinyl and, cork.
What’s needed to make a Casey Pouchette Bag:-
- If you choose to have a leather exterior then for the main body/overlay/strap tabs you will need 2 sq. ft. OR one-piece 12” by 24”. AND for the Crossbody strap, you will need one-piece 2” by 50”,
- If you choose to have a vinyl/cork/fabric exterior then for the main body/overlay/strap tabs you will need one piece 12” by 24” AND for the Crossbody strap, you will need one piece 2” by 50”,
- Interior fabric/Interfacings/Stabilizers:
- Quilting cotton – ⅔ yard of 45” wide,
- Medium weight fusible interfacing – ⅔ yard of 44” wide,
- Decovil Light – one strip ⅜” by 50” (Crossbody strap), two pieces ⅜” by 2½” (strap tabs),
- If you choose to have a fabric exterior then you’ll need one piece of stabilizer 12” by 24”. This stabilizer is used to give your exterior body, so choose your product according to the stability and thickness you want to achieve,
- Two ½” D-rings,
- Two double capped rivets – size 9.2mm with various post lengths,
- Two #5 nylon/metal zipper tape with pulls – 1 @ 10”, and 1 @ 13”,
- One 8” #3 nylon zipper with pull,
- Four 14mm force-fit grommets (optional),
- Two 38mm gated rings (optional),
- Basic sewing supplies,
- A sewing machine.
