This Canvas Wallet has been designed so that it’s easy to make and doesn’t take much fabric so all in all you end up with a pretty affordable project to sew but a very nice wallet! Have fabric scraps? This can be made with lots of smaller scraps of fabric so its a very scrap-friendly free sewing pattern for a handy wallet.
It has space for for lots of bank notes (dollar bills) and there are six card pockets for credit cards, library cards, medical cards, and even your driving license.
In her example wallet the designer chose a fun beachy stripe print. It sure is a fun twist on a traditional wallet. However, you can choose whatever print or color you like. Mix and match your fabric scraps and smaller pieces for a fun look, or pick a classic solid color throughout for a more traditional wallet style.
And if you want to make one of these awesome wallets for the man in your life then depending on what he likes you can choose a more traditional solid black fabric.
What’s needed to make a Canvas Wallet:
- 1/4 yard of canvas fabric. The designer used outdoor canvas that might be a bit more durable,
- 1/4 yard of quilting cotton for the lining,
- 1/4 yard of medium weight iron-on interfacing,
- Basic sewing supplies,
- A sewing machine.
