The Waterlily Waxed Canvas Tote Bag sewing pattern

The Waterlily is a large sized tote that can be made in waxed canvas, cork, vinyl, regular cotton fabric or a combination of these materials.
The Waterlilly Tote Bag, which is suitable for an intermediate sewist, has the following features:
- One exterior zippered pocket is hidden under a small flap
- Two large slip pockets on the back
- Two top carry handles
- One removable adjustable strap.
- The main closure is zippered
- One interior zippered pocket
- Three interior slip pockets.
The final measurements of the Waterlily Tote Bag are approximately 11″ wide by 14.5″ high by 5″ deep.
What you will need to make the Waterlily Waxed Canvas Tote Bag
- 1/2 yard waxed canvas or quilting cotton for the exterior fabric
- 1/4 yard cork, vinyl or quilting cotton for the exterior fabric
- 40″ of 1.5″ webbing for the handle (optional)
- 1-yard of quilting cotton for the lining fabric
- 1/2 to 1-yard of 46″ wide fusible fleece
- 4-6 yards of 20″ wide fusible woven interfacing (SF101)
- 11″ wide by 4.75″ high Peltex or similar interfacing
- Two 1.5″ swivel clasps – see our resources page for recommended hardware suppliers
- One 1.5″ rectangle slide
- Two 1″ D-rings
- Two 14″ zippers
- One 8″ zipper (#3 dress zipper)
- One metal zipper end
- Rivets (optional)
- Basic sewing supplies and sewing machine.
