This bag is the Sadie Expandable Bag sewing pattern from our favorite designer Swoon Patterns. However, as a super bonus, we have found an 80 minute Youtube video from the very talented Lauren Mormino showing you step by step instructions of how to make this amazing expandable bag. You can find her video and at the end of this article, you can find a link to download the digital pattern from the Swoon Patterns website.

Swoon Patterns describes Sadie as an expandable bag to fit any occasion, Sadie includes a zippered gusset allowing it to grow with whatever your day may bring. Featuring a shoulder strap, flap closure and two large slip pockets, it is roomy enough to store all of your necessities while looking extremely chic.

When finished the Sadie Expandable Bag measures approximately 13″ wide by 9″ tall by 3″ to 6″ deep.

What you will need to make the Sadie Expandable Bag:-
- 1/3 yard (30cm) 44” wide of quilting weight fabric for the exterior,
- 3/4 yard (70cm) 44” wide of quilting weight fabric for the lining,
- 1/2 yard (45cm) non-directional woven or vinyl contrasting fabric,
- 1/3 yard (30cm) fusible fleece (Pellon Thermolam TP971F),
- 3 yards (3m) fusible woven interfacing (Pellon Shapeflex SF101),
- One 20” (50cm) all-purpose zipper (expanding gusset),
- Two 1” (2.5cm) rectangle rings,
- One small turn lock or magnetic snap (flap),
- One magnetic snap (back pocket),
- Coordinating thread,
- Basic sewing supplies,
- Sewing machine.
