Mookibii Slouch Bag sewing pattern (+ video)
|This high end looking bag features exterior straps to showcase gorgeous hardware. The inside features a zippered pocket and a double welt pocket. The bag is generously sized without being too large and the designer has even provided info for a minimalist hardware version. It can be made from various fabric mediums such as pliable faux leathers, vinyl, cork fabric or quilting cotton. This pattern has a facing technique that will be familiar to those that sew clothing. This pattern will be a very satisfying sew for an indulgent bag for yourself or those that love strappy bags!

Skill level:
This pattern is for the Intermediate bagmaker. You’ll need to know how to install zippers and be open to trying new techniques. This pattern is domestic machine friendly as long as you use thinner vinyl or fabric – you’ll need to choose your materials appropriately. The designer says that you should not let this discourage you. She has a Facebook group that she’s very active in if you need help. She also has a very helpful admin team and group members.
Sizing info:
When clipped on sides = 12″ wide by 12″ high by 6″ deep.
Recommended Fabrics:
• Exterior – pliable vinyl/faux leather, cork, linen or quilting cotton.
• Contrast Exteriors – pliable vinyl/faux leather or cork or quilting cotton.
• Lining – quilting cotton, linen, or waterproof canvas.
• Facing Fabric – quilting cotton or thin linen similar in color to Contrast Exterior.
• Woven Interfacing (light to medium weight) – Pellon SF101 or similar.
• Firm Interfacing – Decovil Light or similar.

- Lining Fabric (44″ wide): 1 yard,
- Facing Fabric: ¼ yard,
- Medium weight Woven Interfacing (20″ wide) OR (45″ wide): 3 yards OR 1 ½ yards,
- Decovil Light (17″ wide): ¼ yard,
- Four 1½” adjustable rectangle sliders,
- Twelve ¾” strap ends,
- Twelve ¾” adjustable strap sliders,
- Two ¾” D-rings OR rectangle rings,
- Two ¾” swivel clips,
- Two sets of 18mm thin magnetic snaps,
- One #5 8″ packaged zipper OR 8″ of #5 zipper by the yard and one zipper pull if using zipper by the yard,
- 32+ rivets for handles and bag (thickness determined by your materials),
- Five bag feet (optional),
- Wonder clips,
- Rotating hole puncher,
- Rivet setting hand tools or rivet press,
- Basic sewing supplies,
- A sewing machine.
