The Loule Bag is a small but convenient size. It has enough space for you to bring along a standard size wallet but it also offers 8 card slots for the occasions you wish to leave your wallet at home. There is also space for your cellphone and other necessities in a number of slip pockets.

When you have finished making your Loule Bag it will measure approximately 11” (28cm) long by 6” (15cm) high by 1” (2.5cm) wide/deep at the base.

What you will need to make The Loule Bag

  • 15″ by 15” (40 by 40cm) of cork, faux leather, vinyl or cotton for the exterior fabric
  • 18” by 22” (45 by 55cm): A fat quarter cotton for the Decor fabric
  • 18” by 22” (45 by 55cm): A fat quarter cotton for the lining fabric
  • 2” by 50” (5 by 125cm) of the desired fabric for a shoulder strap. You want a longer strap for a crossbody bag or use a ready-made strap or chain
  • 12″ by 4” (30 by 10cm) of medium interfacing: Fast 2 Fuse Medium, Decovil light or for a softer feel use fusible fleece, like Pellon Fusible Thermolam Plus, or any interfacing you have that will allow the cotton to match the feel and sturdiness of your exterior.
  • 16″ by 20” (40 by 50cm) of medium interfacing, if using cotton for the exterior fabric: Fast 2 Fuse Medium, Decovil light or for a softer feel use fusible fleece, like Pellon Fusible Thermolam Plus
  • ½ yard of thin interfacing: Fusible interfacing for the lining, like Vilene G700 woven fusible or Pellon SF101 Shape-Flex
  • One 14” (35cm) zipper (or longer) for decor: Preferably use a sturdy zipper with a metal coil for the best effect, or use regular piping
  • One 12” (27.5cm) zipper (or longer) for closure: Use the same kind of zipper as the decor one so they match
  • Two ½” (1.25cm) wide D-rings
  • Two ½” (1.25cm) wide Swivel snap hooks: Only if making your own strap.
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • A sewing machine.
