The Mini Pup Pouch is a small boxy zipper pouch that is the perfect size for holding doggie waste bags.
This sewing pattern is easy to sew and is therefore perfect for beginner sewers. While completing this project you will learn how to install a zipper, add a swivel clip, and install a grommet.
The Mini Pup Pouch has the following features:
- A handy clip so you can clip it onto a leash, bag, or keychain,
- Instructions for adding leather OR fabric tabs,
- Grommet for dispensing bags, (optional, you can sew this bag without a grommet)
- Fully lined.

When you have finished making your very own Mini Pup Pouch it will measure approximately 3″ long by 2″ tall by 2.5″ deep.
Recommended fabrics:
For the fabrics the designer recommends that you use Quilting cotton or home decor weight for the exterior, and quilting cotton for the lining.
What’s needed to make a Mini Pup Pouch:
- Exterior Fabric- ¼ yard or fat quarter,
- Lining Fabric- ¼ yard or fat quarter,
- Pellon SF 101 (fusible woven interfacing) – ¼ yard,
- Small Scrap of Leather – 1″ by 2.5″ (optional, you can substitute with exterior fabric),
- 4″ zipper (#4.5 or #5 YKK metal zipper is recommended),
- ½ inch swivel clasp hook,
- ⅜” metal grommet (Dritz brand works well),
- Basic sewing supplies,
- A sewing machine.

The designer says that you should note that this is a Measure and Cut Pattern, meaning all pattern pieces are cut using a cutting mat, rotary cutter, and ruler. The sewing pattern includes ten pages of detailed step-by-step instructions with photos for each step.
