Sometimes you just don’t need masses of equipment, yards and yards of fabric and expensive supplies or interfacing to create a great looking bag.
Take the Lauren bag for example. It’s smart, stylish, simple and takes just a yard of fabric. This example even has a recycled leather handle from another old bag, although of course you can add a new one or make a fabric strap for it too.
And as a real bonus, even the pattern is free to download. A big thank you to the very generous bag designer.
What you will need to make The Lauren Bag:-
- 1-yard of canvas fabric
- (Check out the gorgeous fabric used in this bag – Tall Tales Organic Shroom Buttermilk)
- ½ a yard of lining fabric
- One 18” zipper (check out our hardware resources page for preferred suppliers)
- 1-yard of fleece interfacing
- A 12” Leather strap
- Basic sewing supplies
- A sewing machine.
