This nice and roomy elegant handbag would be absolutely great for you to sew up and take to a wedding or special evening out.
The Daisy Mae Handbag is designed for the advanced beginner and has the following features:
- It has a pleated main body which gives it a great shape
- It’s roomy without being too big
- There’s a hidden magnetic snap closure
- A useful interior pocket is included
- When finished it measures 15.75” x 12.5”.
What you will need to make the Daisy Mae Handbag
- 3/8 yard, 5/8 yard and 5/8 yard of three separate quilting cotton fabrics
- 3/8 yard of quilting cotton lining fabric
- 1 1/4 yard (35.5” width) of medium-weight woven fusible interfacing (Vilene G700 or Pellon SF101)
- Scraps of low-loft fusible fleece or heavy-weight fusible interfacing
- Matching sewing thread
- One 3/4″ (18mm) magnetic snap {See our resources page for our favorite hardware suppliers)
- Two 1 1/4″ (30mm) metal D-rings
- Two 1 1/4″ (30mm) metal swivel hook snaps
- Seam ripper (optional, for installing magnetic snap)
- Air-erasable fabric marker pen or chalk – we love the Frixion pens
- Basic sewing supplies
- Sewing machine
