Adjustable strap tutorial
|{UPDATE – we regret that the Sewplicity website is no longer online and we’ve not been able to find this tutorial saved in any other place. The link is broken at the time of checking, but we leave the article here in the hope that it will be back.}Not all bag patterns come with an adjustable strap as standard, but we think it’s a great addition to a lot of bags. An adjustable strap allows you to shorten it, to sling the bag over your shoulder and keep it close. Or to lengthen the strap and have the bag on your hip. Or to lengthen again and use it as a cross-body bag.
But sewing an adjustable strap can sometimes be confusing. What hardware do you need and how do you put the strap together so it slides correctly?
This tutorial over at Sewplicity will show you everything you need to know to create your own adjustable strap and have the option to add this to any bag pattern.
