Recycle a jacket into a gym bag!

{UPDATE – since BluPrint moved to new Craftsy, this article is still available on the blog, but all of the images have disappeared. Sorry, we hate it when things like this happen, but on other sites its outside of our control.}
We love Irene and her recycling and upcycling projects. Here’s one she wrote for the Craftsy blog about how to recycle an old jacket into a gym bag. She’s ingenious!
Ideal for a thrift store find, or something that’s now too small, too worn or just too out of date. Breathe new life into those pockets, zippers, fabrics and create this fun gym bag.
Irene will show you how to deconstruct the jacket and reconstruct the bag in this article on the Craftsy blog.
What’s more, you also get to make an additional wet bag/shoe bag to use inside the gym bag as well. Nothing goes to waste when Irene is sewing!
Check out more on the Craftsy blog for the full tutorial and even if you don’t have a jacket, this clever idea will give you inspiration for other recycling sewing projects.
