If we can here at Sew Modern Bags we love to bring you FREE patterns or tutorials. This time we bring you a FREE tutorial and the designer has named her bag the Japanese Knock-Off Tote Bag. You can get the FREE tutorial by clicking on the link at the end of this post.
The designer shows you how to make her adorable tote bag in two different ways. The first way is to make a beautiful patchwork tote with pockets on the inside. Or you can make her tote bag with pockets on the outside and patchwork on the inside. You choose which one to make or if you like you could make them both.
You will see from the photos of this bag that you can carry it cinched or un-cinched, and the designer has also given you the chance to add some personal touches with an applique patch.
At the time the designer was working on her design, as all good designers do, she involved her readers. She asked them what fabric she should use and they mainly suggested linen or canvas. So use whichever one you want to, with the rest of the fabrics coming from your stash. That’s right this tote bag tutorial is a great stash buster.
