Indie purse FREE sewing pattern

Here’s another great FREE pattern and tutorial. This Indie style purse has a pleated body, a magnetic snap closure, a natural linen band with hand stitching details, a shaped top, and two straps to be worn over your shoulder.
Despite all the lovely details, this bag is much easier to sew than you might think. You only need one small pattern piece, just for the shaped part at the top of the bag. The rest of the pieces are all rectangles and the pleating is what gives the bag it’s shaping.
The approximate finished dimensions are 9 1/2″ by 9 1/2″ by 3″ (straps not included).
What you will need to make this Indie Purse:-
- Less than a fat quarter each of four fabrics for the main body of the bag,
- 1/4 yard of strap material,
- 1/2 yard of lining material,
- Scraps of natural linen for the accent band,
- 1/2 yard of interfacing,
- 1/2 yard of fusible fleece,
- One magnetic snap,
- Basic sewing supplies,
- Sewing machine.
