- Pockets galore – a quick-access zipper pocket at the front, a secure zipper pocket at the back, and a roomy interior with an additional secure zipper pocket inside.
- Unisex design – sleek and stylish, it makes a great gift for anyone.
Whether you’re heading out on a day trip, shopping in town, or cycling, this bag keeps your essentials secure while leaving your hands free.
Materials
For the large size, you’ll need:
- Exterior fabric (½ yard) – think heavy washed canvas, denim, waxed canvas, or soft vinyl. (Avoid very stiff fabrics for this project.)
- Lining (¾ yard) – quilting cotton or other medium-weight woven fabrics.
- Interfacing (optional) – ¾–1 yard, depending on width.
- Zippers – the pattern is written for zipper tape, but tips are provided if you prefer using regular zippers.
Finished Sizes
- Medium: 12 ½” x 5 ¾” (circumference approx. 34”–48”)
- Large: 13 ¾” x 6 ½” (circumference approx. 37”–52”)
Skill Level
This is an intermediate-level sewing project. If you’ve sewn bags before and are comfortable with curves, zippers, and multiple fabric layers, you’ll love the challenge. Beginners may find it tricky, but for adventurous makers it’s a rewarding skill-builder with new construction techniques to learn.
