As you can imagine busy designer’s design a lot of bags and they really can’t use all of them in their daily lives. Are you the same? You’ve sewn a lot of bags but they don’t all get used? Or some are used more than others? We think this is a bag that won’t get sewn up and then left at the back of your closet – you can grab this bag and use it everyday.
It has some great features like a zip pocket on the front together with two pockets on the inside. And to keep everything safe inside it has a zipper closure.

When you have finished making your very own DIY Everyday Tote Bag it will measure approximately 15″ (38 cm) wide by 12″ (30 cm) high by 3″ (8 cm) deep.

The designer says that her seam allowances are 3/8″ unless otherwise specified.
What you will need to make a DIY Everyday Tote Bag With Zipper :
- Outer layer fabric (quilting cotton),
- Contrast Color fabric (quilting cotton),
- Lining fabric (quilting cotton),
- One 10″ zipper,
- One 13¾″ zipper,
- Fusible fleece (It is similar to Pellon 987F ‘ or ‘Vilene H630’),
- 1″ (2.5 cm) wide webbing strap 47½″ (120 cm) long,
- One sewing tag,
- Basic sewing supplies,
- A sewing machine.
NOTE – there is no downloadable pattern for this bag. The fabric is cut according to the dimensions given in the video tutorial. Everything is rectangles and straight lines so it can easily be cut using a quilting ruler and rotary cutter, and doesn’t need printable pattern templates.
