Car Diddy Bag | Organiser and storage for your car – FREE sewing pattern
With this FREE pattern and tutorial, you can make this handy Car Diddy Bag for organizing your stuff in your car.
The Car Diddy Bag keeps everything you need nice and handy and organized. It’s specifically designed to hold your phone in one of the outside open pockets, maybe your phone cord, some pens etc.
At the back of the bag, there is a welt zipper pocket where you can stash some cash or an emergency credit card in case you forget your purse.
Velcro has been used to stick the bag to the floor to keep it from sliding around. There was some concern about the bag putting unneeded pressure and pull on the stick/gear shift. So the strap for the bag was made long enough so that the bag sits on the floor with the velcro helping to hold it in place. If you are still uncomfortable putting a strap around your shifter/ gear stick, you could always hang the Car Diddy Bag somewhere else.
When finished the Car Diddy Bag is approximately 8″ tall by 7 1/2″ wide by 2″ deep.
What you will need to make the Car Diddy Bag:–
- 1/2 yard of quilting cotton fabric for the bag,
- 1/2 yard of quilting cotton fabric for the pockets & strap,
- 1/2 yard of flex foam / fusible fleece (By Annie’s), or another stabilizer,
- One zipper, at least 6” long (for the hidden cash pocket),
- 4’” strip of hook tape (half of a velcro set),
- Basic sewing supplies,
- Sewing machine.
