Materials needed:
- ¾ yard (100 cm) approximately plus two 9" by 4½" pieces of clear vinyl (16 gauge recommended) of exterior fabric,
- ¾ yard (100 cm) approximately of lining fabric,
- ¾ yard (70 cm) to 1½ yards (140 cm) approximately of lightweight woven fusible interfacing (Sew Woven or Pellon ShapeFlex SF101). Note woven interfacing is not required when using vinyl/cork/waterproof canvas,
- ⅔ yard (65 cm) approximately of light weight stabilizer such as Decovil Light plus two 3" (7.6 cm) by 5" (12.7 cm) pieces of heavy weight stabilizer such as Decovil Heavy,
- 17.5" (44.4 cm) #5 zipper tape for the main zipper closure plus (1-2 zipper pulls),
- Two 1" (25 mm) rectangle rings,
- Four rivets (or Chicago Screws). 6-7 mm for thinner fabrics or 8-9 mm for thicker fabrics,
- Two ⅜" (9.5 mm) elastic by 9¾" (24.7 cm) long plus cotton fabric to cover elastic, if desired (optional). You can use wider elastic if desired,
- 60" (155 cm) approximately ½" (13 mm) wide of double fold bias binding or 1" (2.5 cm) wide fold over elastic or waterproof canvas binding,
- Bag tag (optional),
- 19 mm safety pin (for turning fabric and feeding elastic),
- Liquid Vinyl or OdiCoat (optional) apply to lining fabric to make waterproof/stain resistant,
- Basic sewing supplies,
- A sewing machine.
Additional hardware for the Crossbody Purse option:
- Six additional rivets (or Chicago Screws),
- Two 1" (25 mm) Snap Hooks,
- Two 1" (25 mm) D-Rings (instead of Rectangle Rings),
- One 1" (25 mm) Strap Slider.
