The Ombak (waves) Shoulder Bag is an awesome design with two options - pleated and plain front.

Ombak (Malay for wave) is an attractive bag with unique features that will make heads turn! The main feature is the strong curve on the front of the bag which symbolize "a huge sea wave". The pleated upper part creates a 3D effect of "sea breeze moving towards the land". The concept is inspired by and a tribute to the designer's seaside hometown.

You may also make a quick sew version of the Ombak (waves) Shoulder Bag by using a non-pleated front piece.

Skill level:
Ambitious beginner / Intermediate.

11" (28 cm) high by 10" (25.5 cm) wide by 3" ( 7.5 cm) deep.

Materials neded:

  • 1-yard of medium-weight cotton fabric
  • ½ yard of fabric for the lining,
  • 1-yard of light-weight fusible interfacing,
  • One zipper end (optional),
  • One 1¼" slider,
  • Two 1¼" swivel hooks,
  • Two 1¼" D rings.

The pattern:
You will receive thirty-four pages of complete step-by-step written instructions with illustrations and photos together with twelve pages of pattern tiles that need to be assembled. A video link and seam allowances are included in the pattern.
